Getting Here – Find Your Way to Carol Cottage

Carol Cottage is tucked away in a peaceful rural setting midway between Kilkeel and Rostrevor, in County Down, Northern Ireland. Despite its tranquil, countryside location, the cottage is easy to reach whether you're travelling from Belfast, Dublin, or elsewhere in the UK or Ireland.

🚗 Travelling by Car

Carol Cottage is best reached by car, offering flexibility and ease for exploring the stunning Mourne Mountains and surrounding attractions.

From Belfast* (approx. 1 hr 30 mins):

• Take the M1 (South) to Lisburn

• From Lisburn take the A1 to Newry

• At Newry, follow signs to "Warren Point, Rostrevor and Kilkeel"

• On leaving Rostrevor towards Kilkeel, Glenloughan Road is approximately 7 miles, and will be a turning on the left hand side.

• Upon turning left into Glenloughan, travel for around half a mile until you see large red roofed dwelling on your right hand side

• Turn right into the concrete land as if you were entering the rear entrance of the red roofed house

• However, continue for a short distance along the (private) land, you will see Carol Cottage ahead of you (first Cottage on the left of the lane)

From Dublin (approx. 1 hr 45 mins):

• Take M1 (North) to Newry

• At Newry, follow signs to "Warren Point, Rostrevor and Kilkeel"

Input the full postcode BT34 4SR for accurate directions. Carol Cottage is located on a quiet rural road — look out for the traditional stone exterior and front garden with parking on-site.

If you're coming from or visiting the Republic of Ireland, the Carlingford Ferry is a convenient and scenic route across Carlingford Lough:

• Greencastle Ferry Terminal (5 mins from the cottage) connects to Greenore on the southern shore.

• Ideal for guests visiting Carlingford or exploring County Louth and beyond.
